My Acupuncture Story:
Chinese medicine has captured my heart and full attention. In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with gallstones and the symptoms were greatly impacting my quality of life. My doctor gave me two choices; immediate surgery or possible future emergency surgery. I chose to get another opinion. What I discovered changed my life forever. In 2003, I visited my first acupuncturist. Chinese medicine was not a quick fix for me however; I still have my gallbladder (with no stones). I was amazed at the results and impressed by the interaction I had with my practitioner. I became curious, started an apprenticeship and have not looked back since. My favorite moments as an acupuncturist are the daily reminders of the “miracle” that first time patients experience. The results of acupuncture leave patients shocked, puzzled, excited and many people find hope after a long road to finding relief. People experience a realization that there is a safe, effective and gentle way to improve their quality of life.
Bree has a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, is licensed to practice in Montana and is nationally certified. She loves working with families and has Advanced training in Pediatric care. In addition to her Chinese Medical training, Bree is a certified meditation teacher. She offers meditation training through Life Tools Meditation.
Dr. Adam Manninen
Dr. Manninen earned his doctorate of chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2009. He also completed a Masters Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation while attending Logan College of Chiropractic.
From early on, Dr. Manninen was interested in health and wellness. Being very active with sports and activities, he knew that staying healthy was key to doing the activities he loved. Dr. Manninen’s first experience with Chiropractic came about because of asthma. Growing up, Dr. Manninen was on a regiment of inhalers and corticosteroids to control symptoms. It wasn’t until he enrolled in Chiropractic school that he was able to stop the use of medication and truly understand the body’s ability to heal.
Dr. Manninen attended Lake Superior State University for his undergraduate degree. Continuing his education, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to attend Logan College of Chiropractic. During his time at Logan, Dr. Manninen pursued a Masters in Sports Science and Rehabilitation along with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. As part of his masters degree program, Dr. Manninen interned in Vail, Colorado at the Steadman Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Corneman, M.D., D.C. Here Dr. Manninen was able to observed one of the best orthopedic spinal surgeons from consultations to surgeries. Dr. Manninen saw first hand the importance of Chiropractic Care and what happens when non-invasive techniques are no longer an option.
After Dr. Manninen’s completion of his internship he entered private practice in Bellingham, Washington. Dr. Manninen has received advanced training in Sports Science, Rehabilitation, ART (Active Release Technique), TMJ protocols, Sacral Occipital Technique, Spinal and Extremity Adjusting.

My Acupuncture Story:
I was raised in New Jersey, the youngest of a large, loving family. As I ventured out into the world, I went all the way across the river to New York City to study Biology at Columbia University. With degree in hand, I headed for the Colorado Rockies to learn the art of skiing. I then headed north to pursue a Master’s degree at MSU, landing me a career in Landscape Ecology and Conservation Biology.
After the birth of my two beautiful children something shifted for me. I found myself needing to create, to work with my hands, to be a positive force in the world in a more tangible way. I began searching for a way to help people tune into themselves and discover how they resonate with nature. Off to Gainesville, Florida I went to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Upon receiving my degree as a Licensed Acupuncturist, I traveled back to Montana where I now specialize in multiple Acupuncture techniques. I provide patients with the education they need to move toward not only bodily health, but also to experience a vibrant life.
Director of Patient Experience
I began working for Ascend Wellness after having a wonderful experience with treatment here myself. This was the first place I was able to achieve some much-desired answers regarding my own health and wellbeing. I found so much comfort in coming to this clinic and being guided by professional and knowledgeable practitioners. Upon learning the clinic was hiring for some part-time assistance, I immediately knew this was the place for me. I’ve been able to immerse myself in so much knowledge over the past year working here and I’m so grateful that I get to interact with our wonderful patients and their families. My goal as Director of Patient Experience is to provide our patients with the best possible experience while they are in our facility. I strive to provide a comfortable and welcoming front desk environment with open dialogue and communication.
